Shop Manager: This position is for a person that has had some previous management experience. You must be good at multi-tasking, time management of yourself and others, basic computer skills (Windows XP oriented), good organizational skills with paper work management, job tasks and co-ordination of time critical operations. You must be good with verbal skills, communication with both customers and co-workers, creating ideas, keeping on schedule, dealing with pressure, sales, and seeing the whole and complete picture. You must be self motivated and able to make decisions for both the benefit of your customer and the company as you are also the customers contact with the company. Duties of this position are and not limited to: shop management, salesperson in both rentals and sales, reception for productions and installations calls, taking customer orders, executing paperwork to the shop and managing the completion of it, issuing purchase orders to manufacturers, vendors and other lighting companies, managing paperwork related to customers, i.e. quotes, rental agreements, sales orders, paperwork for invoice processing. Additionally, managing the functionality of the shop, ordering any shop supplies, and filing of paperwork listed above. This position will introduce you to lots of contacts in the theatrical lighting industry including, customers, manufacturers and vendors. It will also introduce you to lots of equipment that is commonly used in the industry as you will be selling, renting and investigating this equipment on a daily basis. The hours of this position are Monday through Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. As we try not to work past these hours it is sometimes necessary to work extra hours and you are expected to complete the job that is necessary.
